Although over the recent years various other modes of bill payment have been introduced in the country in different sectors but cash payment remains to be the popular one. Nowadays bill payment though bank cheques and through the Internet is also done by a significant number of consumers of varied utility services. The electricity service providers in India such as the likes of CESC, WBSEB, Tata Power, Ahmedabad Electricity Corporation, Reliance Energy facilitates the process of bill payment in Cash. In such case the consumers usually have to go to the respective offices of these companies and deposit the stipulated amount in cash to the cash counter.
In certain cases the bills are also being deposited in the various public sector undertaking banks who have got collaborations with the utility service providers.
